Meet Ranger: The Ranch Cat of White Stallion Ranch
Ranger is quickly becoming one of the most recognizable (and popular) faces around the ranch. You’ll most likely find him napping in the gift shop or lodge, but he also finds his way into guests’ rooms, the spa, the activity fort, and plenty of other places he probably wasn’t technically invited.
Ranger first came to us as a feral stray. He lived near the activity shed and was the meanest son of a gun this side of the Mississippi. Then Kristin started feeding him, and little by little, he became more comfortable around people. Eventually, she caught him in a trap and had him fixed.
After that, Ranger vanished for about 10 days. We figured he had decided to stay away after the whole experience… but then he came back, this time with a bit of an attitude adjustment.
These days, he greets people at the front desk, heckles anyone who might have treats, and stays just out of reach of the people who want his attention the most. He even has his own “General Manager” chair in the back office, which he occupies whenever he feels the ranch needs proper supervision.
Guests now come into the lodge asking where Ranger is, but he lives life on his own schedule. He keeps himself busy making rounds, inspecting rooms, visiting the spa, and attending to his many duties around the ranch.
Whether he stops long enough to let you pet him is entirely up to Ranger.
