1. What is included in the rate? 3 meals daily, All horseback riding (except lessons ($20), beverages (coffee, tea, lemonade, hot chocolate, cappuccino, milk and juice with breakfast), use of all facilities (no resort or hidden fees), all activities and entertainment. 2. What is NOT included in the rate? Bar drinks (Beer, Wine, Margaritas, Liquors, Sodas, Mixers), horseback riding lessons ($20), Massages, Gift Shop purchases. 3. How much riding can I do in a day? There are 5-7 hours of riding offered daily (except Sunday - no riding, horses' day off) 4. What if I have never ridden a horse before? Many of our guests experience their first horseback ride with us. We have horses that are appropriate for first time and inexperienced riders. Our riding program is designed to help people to feel comfortable, learn at their own pace and ride safely. 5. I am an experienced rider. Will the riding program work for me? We have a horse for every level of riding including experienced riders. In fact many of our guests own their own horses. The variety of our riding program is designed to meet the expectations for every riding level. Our Team Cattle Penning, All Day, Half Day and Fast Rides (with loping/cantering) are popular with our many accomplished riders. 6. Do we have to stay on the trail during rides? Yes. Staying on our trails keeps both riders and horses safe from the cactus that grow throughout the area. 7. Will I ride the same trails over and over? We have an extensive trail system which enables us to not repeat a trail during a week of riding. 8. Is there riding everyday? Sunday is our horses day off - - no riding on Sundays. 9. What amenities are in my room? While there are no televisions in our rooms we do have refrigerators, hair dryers, safes, robes and radios with i Pod docking stations. 10. Why should I choose White Stallion Ranch? Value, personal service, variety of horseback riding, quality of activities and facilities, ease of getting to the ranch, and the resident ownership management who grew up on the ranch. (45 years) 11. What temperatures should I expect? As you can see by the chart, desert temperatures usually have about a 30 degree swing. Dressing with layers is a good strategy. 12. At what age may my child ride a horse? Children must be 5 years old to ride on scenic rides or take a lesson and 8 years old to go on mountain rides and take the test for fast rides and team penning. (The Wine and Cheese and Beer and Cheetos rides are for adults only) 13. I have physical limitations, what riding am I able to do? You and your doctor know your capabilities and limitations best. We will rely on you and your doctor's advice. 14. When is the best time to come? The answer to that depends on what you enjoy about vacationing - Some deciding factors follow; Weather: Refers to question # 11 regarding temperature and the range of temperatures you are looking for. Number of Guests: If the number of guests is important to you, we recommend you call the office to get their estimate based on history and current bookings. Children: If you do not want children at the ranch or if you are looking for a more family oriented group, the school holiday schedule will indicate the times with the most families. Holidays typically are popular times to travel with children. Rates: There are 3 rate periods and usually two or more periods with special pricing. This information will be in the rates and specials sections. 15. I am single. Is the ranch a good place for me? Many of our guests are traveling alone. They find that the riding, activities, mealtimes, and culture of the ranch create great opportunities to make new friends, be included in the group and feel quite comfortable. 16. We have non-riders in our group. What will they do? Though small in percentage, our non-riding guests are large in numbers and they enjoy all of our other activities that the ranch has to offer such as hiking, hayrides, rodeos, natural horsemanship demos, cookouts, evening entertainment, and BBQs. Ranch facilities include tennis, basketball (full court), volleyball, heated pool, hot-tub, movie theater, games room, petting zoo, fitness center, sauna, and massage. 17. Can my under 5 year old ride with me on my horse? Insurance regulation does not permit double riding in any situation. 18. May I ride on my own without a guide?
All of our riding is guided. Our Wranglers know the ranch and the National Park the best. Also safety and logistical reasons make it best to go with a Wrangler. 19. How many rooms does the ranch have? There are 41 rooms and suites plus a 4 bedroom house (The Hacienda). 20. Is there a separate childrens program? We take the family approach. Our intent is that families enjoy the activities and facilities together. We do not offer child care. 21. How many riders are in a group? Slow rides average 7-10 guests and fast rides average 5-8 guests. 22. Is there a start day? No. Guests check in every day of the week. Since there is no riding on Sundays many guests choose that as their arrival/departure day. 23. How do I get to the Ranch from the airport? Tucson: The ranch provides transfers to and from the airport at no charge for those staying 4 nights or longer. Ask the office for the cost of transfers for shorter stays. Phoenix: The Airport Shuttle offers affordable transfers to the Ina Rd station where the ranch will pick you up. Ask the office for more information on custom transfers to Phoenix. 24. What should we do on Sundays? As there is no riding on a Sunday it is often a good day to see some of the things that Tucson has to offer. Refer to our Local Attractions page for more details. Sunday is also a good day to kick back, relax and enjoy the ranchs facilities. 25. With the Summer heat in Tucson How does the schedule work? In the summer the schedule changes. We still ride but it is earlier in the morning and later in the afternoon. Our summer guests have enjoyed both the riding and the opportunity in the middle of the day to explore Tucson or just get a little more rest and relaxation on the ranch.
